Villa Raffaela

We were a party of 6 adults (3 couples), staying for a week in September 2024.

We found the Villa to be lovely, with lots of space for all of us. The bedrooms are very spacious, as were the bathrooms. There are a few seating areas - inside the main entrance there were two couches and a large dining area. Outside, there is a seating area facing the mountains - which was lovely to sit in the morning or an evening chatting, and also a large outdoor table which was covered and is lovely to eat lunch or dinner. There is a downstairs basement with a lot more couches, and entertainment. There is a foos-ball table; a pool table and a drum kit with keyboard and microphone! Very entertaining and great fun!

The basement also has a utility room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer, with equipment to hang washings.

There are plentiful bathrooms and showers throughout the Villa should these be needed, with a fantastic ensuite within the master bedroom. The bedrooms had lots of wardrobe space with plenty of coat hangers and sockets close to the beds. Also the bathrooms were filled with lots of toilet rolls which meant you didn't have to go and buy some.

The owners left a hospitality gift for us - wine, iced tea, fruit and other goodies - this was very much appreciated.

The Villa had absolutely everything you could need, with lots of towels, crockery, cutlery, knives and outdoor furniture. Having pool towels to use was very much appreciated, as it meant we didn't have to pay to put a large suitcase in the hold of the plane.

The location of the Villa is great, although you definitely do need to hire a car. It was very secure - with electric gates accessible only to the renters. This ensured our car was safe and not at risk of being hit whilst parked outside.

The beach is about a 20 minute drive away - we went to Viareggio and spent the day there. Really lovely flat promenade with lots of shops, bars and restaurants, and absolutely tons of sun beds. The beach and shore are also very clean and in turn are family friendly.

The Villa is very close to two restaurants - one is literally at the end of the garden. This served lovely food, and the staff were really nice, and very welcoming.
There is another restaurant about 5 minutes walk away which too served lovely food. There is a small deli shop next to the restaurant closer to the Villa which was great to pick up items such as bread, milk, vegetables or wine!

Unfortunately we had a power cut whilst there. This resulted in us having issues with the lighting in the basement. The owners live in the house next door and quickly sorted emergency lighting to allow us to use the space. However they did, and more than likely may still be struggling to get an electrician in to sort the issue. We were still able to use the white goods (washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer).

The only downside I would say about the Villa is there is an issue with dampness in the basement. This may have been what affected the electrics. Unfortunately this dampness also meant we had to relocate to the upstairs area as one of our party has asthma and her breathing was affected.

The pool is covered, but we were only able to use it once. Obviously due to the time of the year we visited, it was very cold. There is also an issue with sand in the pool. The owners were diligent in cleaning it, but they were unfortunately unable to remove it. I think if you visit in the height of the summer, the pool will be much warmer.

As I mentioned, the owners live in the house next door. They were very helpful, not intrusive and we had fun trying to converse in English and Italian. It would be helpful to be able to pay the security deposit by holding a credit card, rather than having to pay cash, but that is just a personal preference.

I would also highlight there are a lot of stairs up to the Villa from the car parking area. In photos, these don't look to be too many, however they are steep, and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Communications before we arrived were good. Very fast responses to any questions asked.

In short, we had a wonderful time, and would thoroughly recommend Villa Raffaella.

The villa is modern and well maintained, close to a couple of pizzerias. It is well equipped and there was nothing we required that was not present. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful scenery .

Sono stata con mio figlio per passare una settimana in tranquillità e ci siamo trovati benissimo! La villa ha tutte le comodità che ci si aspetta e anche di più! È in una posizione tranquilla, con tutti i servizi vicinissimi, con addirittura due ristoranti sotto casa da provare!
La signora Raffaella è una persona gentilissima e affettuosa e ci si può rivolgere a lei per qualsiasi cosa occorresse!
Noi abbiamo passato una settimana immersi nel verde e cullati dalla campane della Pieve vicina!

Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Ich weiss gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel und extrem gut ausgestattet. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Angefangen mit einer Aufmerksamkeit bei der Anreise inkl. Wein bis zur unkomplizierten Abreise war alles perfekt.
Sehr netter Kontakt zum Eigentümer und auch vor Ort.
Ein absolutes Highlight ist der Keller mit Billardtisch und Entertainment inkl. Grossbild TV.

Die Villa ist sehr beeindruckend. Super Ausstattung und alles sehr hochwertig. Um das Haus herum gibt es mehrere Sitzgelegenheiten. Alles sehr geschmackvoll. Der Pool hat die perfekte Größe. In der unmittelbaren Nähe sind zwei tolle Restaurants und zwei kleine Lebensmittelläden. Dort bekommt man alles, was man braucht.

A wonderful villa for a fantastic vacation. The villa is in perfect conditions in a really relaxing environment with plenty of activities to do (Lucca and Pisa 35min drive, ocean shore 20min drive, hiking opportunities right from the villa...) A must visit is the restaurant "c'era una volta" right next door with fantastic italien food :-)

It's a superbe Villa in the hills of Tuscany. The Villa is very well equipped. We especially liked the small shop - for fresh bread in the morning - and the restaurant next door. The beach is in reach within 15 minutes by car - close enough if you want to go there but enough distant to enjoy the silence.

Es war ein fantastischer Aufenthalt! Alles war wie beschrieben vorhanden und noch etliches mehr! Tolle Einrichtung, vom Whirlpool bis zum Aufenthaltsbereich im Untergeschoss. Sehr grosszügige Ausstattung mit allen möglichen Küchengeräten und sehr viel Geschirr, Tücher, Bettwäsche... Unkomplizierte Abwicklung und sehr gastfreundlich! DANKE

My family and I spent a week at this property recently and it was exceptional. The villa certainly has the ‘wow factor’. It was extremely well equipped with good quality furnishings and utensils.; very clean and the grounds were well maintained. It is situated in the heart of the Tuscan hills but easily accessible to shops, beach and main roads. We ate at an excellent restaurant just next door to the villa that also did take away food.
The family next door who look after the villa were charming and very helpful. I would highly recommend this property for a quality relaxing family holiday.

Sehr empfehlenswert, das Haus bietet alles was man sich wünscht. Pizzeria und Greissler ganz Nahe. Lediglich eine Klimaanlage wäre angenehm, wobei wir Glück hatten und die Nächte noch kühl waren. Für den Hund wäre ein Gefäß in dem er sich abkühlen kann nett gewesen.
Unser Aufenthalt war perfekt - gerne wieder :-)

Die Villa hat gehalten, was die Fotos versprochen haben: super Ausstattung mit allem Drum und Dran, viel Platz, Wahnsinns Schwimmbad. Ein bisschen Zeit braucht man um sich mit den verschiedenen Systemen zurechtzufinden. Alle waren sehr freundlich.

Wir waren umgeben von unglaublichem Luxus in dieser exklusiven Villa. Der ganze Besitz ist fantastisch! Die Nähe zum Meer und zu den Orten der Gegend war auch sehr schön. Wir haben alles sehr genossen und empfehlen die Villa gerne weiter.

Beautiful views of the tuscany hills from villa and very spacious place clean and well decorated. Lots of gadgets very modern but need someone to help you on how to use them. Fantastic home entertainment system in basement but no direction on how to use it. Pool was too cold not sure how to heat the pool. The cook available was outstanding spot on!

Villa Raffaela was very nice and stylish, with all modern comfort you could wish. the Villa was situated in a charming area with old classic Villas and 2 Italian restaurants within very good food and prices 100m from the Villa. Only 10 min drive to the beach. Family of the owner lived in neighbor house and was very friendly and helpful if we needed any info or help. My family loved our holiday staying at Villa Raffaela, and would warmly recommend it to you too.

This is a truly beautiful and luxurious villa and a wonderful place to stay.
